Sido Muncul recently inaugurated the Sehat Sido Muncul Health Store at RS UKRIDA Jakarta. This initiative aims to introduce herbal medicines to the public. According to Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat, Director of Sido Muncul, this marks the seventh collaboration between the company and hospitals for the Gerai Sehat Natural Sido Muncul program. The display of food supplements containing single ingredients like turmeric or other herbs in hospitals allows doctors to become familiar with and study herbal medicine. This enables doctors to better understand the benefits of natural ingredients such as turmeric, temulawak, sambiloto, and others in supporting patient treatment.
Irwan hopes that by having herbal products available in hospitals, doctors will actively incorporate natural ingredients into their treatments. Unlike pharmaceutical drugs that provide standard solutions based on specific symptoms, herbal medicine allows doctors to play a more direct role in designing treatments. Dr. Tuan Juniar Situmorang, M. Kes. welcomes the presence of Sehat Sido Muncul Health Store at RS UKRIDA Jakarta as an effort to introduce and familiarize traditional herbal medicine in the healthcare industry. Although some may find it challenging, the government and Ministry’s efforts are commendable in implementing herbal medicine as a reference.
During a health seminar on the recognition of natural ingredients in medicine, Dr. Rianti Maharani, M.Si, AIFO-K, expressed support for doctors learning how to utilize traditional and modern forms of herbal medicine. The insights gained from the seminar highlight the importance of embracing traditional herbal medicine, which has been scientifically tested. The heritage of herbal medicine should be celebrated and supported in healthcare services. It is important for both the public and medical practitioners not to hesitate in using herbal medicine due to its proven scientific benefits.
RS UKRIDA is the seventh hospital to collaborate with Sido Muncul for the launch of the Sehat Sido Muncul Health Store. Previous collaborations include RS Panti Wilasa Semarang, RSUD Bung Karno Solo, RS Banyumanik Semarang, RSUD Bali Mandara, RS Ari Canti Ubud Gianyar Bali, and RS Islam Jakarta Cempaka Putih.
