Indonesia Aid to Gaza: 80th Independence Day Relief

The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully completed a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on Sunday, August 17, 2025. This mission was a joint effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time. They carried out an airdrop of essential supplies over Gaza and safely returned to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.

Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, stated that the mission went smoothly without major challenges. The aid packages included staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally mandated this mission, demonstrating Indonesia’s dedication to international humanitarian solidarity.

This successful mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was applauded as a moment of national pride, showcasing the country’s active participation on the global platform and contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto described this accomplishment as a significant milestone and a special gift on Indonesia’s Independence Day.
