Pentingnya Mempercepat Infrastruktur Layanan Gizi di Sumatera Utara

Hasan Nasbi, the Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), recently visited SPPG Cempedak Lobang in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, to urge the province to expedite the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the construction of more Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) to meet the strong public demand and enthusiasm for the MBG Program, especially in communities that have yet to benefit from it. Hasan highlighted the crucial collaboration between the central government, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and regional leaders in ensuring that school children receive free nutritious meals. He also called for active support from local governments in developing SPPGs, particularly in disadvantaged and frontier areas. Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, expressed optimism that the province would soon have 200 operational SPPGs out of the targeted 1,732 units. Bobby emphasized the need for each regency and municipality to build a minimum of three SPPGs, excluding those established by private partners, towards meeting the regional government’s contribution to the program. The government aims to increase the number of SPPGs steadily, with plans to add more units in the near future.
