Indonesia is celebrating its 80th Independence Day with the theme “United in Sovereignty, Prosperous People, Advancing Indonesia”, reflecting a vision shared by the nation’s leaders and citizens. The phrase “United in Sovereignty” highlights the spirit of harmony and mutual cooperation among the Indonesian people. Meanwhile, “Prosperous People” signifies President Prabowo Subianto’s dedication to improving public welfare through various programs such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and the People’s School initiative. The goal of “Advancing Indonesia” is to enhance global competitiveness, improve infrastructure, and achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia (Indonesia Emas).
Deputy for Dissemination and Media Information at the Presidential Communication Office, Noudhy Valdryno, explained that the official 80th Independence Day logo symbolizes unity and national progress. The logo consists of three primary elements, each representing Indonesia’s trajectory towards development and unity. The design reflects the interconnectedness of the Indonesian people and their journey towards a more equitable and dignified life.
In addition to the visual elements, the government emphasizes transparency, clear policy direction, and public trust as crucial foundations for national advancement. In the face of modern communication challenges, such as Disinformation, Slander, and Hatred (DSH), it is important for the Indonesian people to be discerning and critical. The celebrations for the 80th Independence Day are designed to be inclusive, engaging all segments of society in a shared celebration of national pride and progress.
The official logo, designed by Bram Patria Yoshugi and selected by President Prabowo, embodies the spirit of “Joint Ownership, Shared Celebration.” It is a visual representation of Indonesia’s unity, prosperity, and progress as the nation commemorates 80 years of independence. The logo was created through a collaborative effort involving various government agencies and the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI).
As Indonesia marks its 80th Independence Day, the theme of unity is highlighted not only in the celebratory events but also in the shared commitment to a sovereign, prosperous, and progressive nation.
