Prabowo Aims for 82.9 Million Children to Get Free Nutritious Meals

President Prabowo Subianto has set a grand goal to expand the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis / MBG) to reach 82.9 million children nationwide by the end of 2025. During the 27th anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB), he emphasized the program’s significance as a national priority and urgent matter. Prabowo recounted a poignant experience from his visit to Central Java, where he witnessed the strong demand for the program among schoolchildren and community members. Touched by this encounter, he promptly directed his team to accelerate the program’s implementation, aiming to reach 20 million children by mid-August. With the ultimate objective of reaching 82.9 million beneficiaries by December 2025, President Prabowo conveyed that this initiative has garnered international attention, with other countries observing Indonesia’s swift progress. Despite his optimistic outlook, he emphasized the importance of delivering tangible results and invited accountability for his promises. The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a crucial component of Prabowo’s overarching vision to address child hunger, malnutrition, and educational disparities, ensuring that every child has the nourishment required for learning, growth, and success.
