President Prabowo Subianto is dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivileged through a series of key programs aimed at not only addressing immediate needs but also creating a better future for generations to come. One of these initiatives is the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) program, which aims to disrupt the cycle of poverty by providing education to children born into impoverished families.
The goal of President Prabowo’s administration is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the overall national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029. To achieve this ambitious target, the government is implementing a combination of social intervention and community empowerment programs.
The Three-pronged strategy, consisting of the People’s School initiative, the Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools, is crucial in the fight against poverty. The Free Health Checks program, known as CKG, has already benefited 10 million Indonesians and aims to reach 50 million by the end of the year.
Moreover, the Red-and-White Village Cooperatives are designed to stimulate local economies and promote self-reliance by creating new employment opportunities and empowering both rural and urban communities. The Kopdes Merah Putih program, set to launch on July 21, 2025, aims to establish 80,000 cooperatives nationwide.
Overall, President Prabowo’s commitment to lifting the poor out of poverty is evident in the various initiatives and programs that are being implemented. Through education, community empowerment, and health interventions, the government is working towards a future where poverty is no longer a barrier to a dignified life for all Indonesians.
