President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia reiterated the significance of the “Bandung Spirit” at the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, reported that President Prabowo stressed Indonesia’s commitment to global peace and adherence to international law. He emphasized the rejection of war and double standards in international relations. Moreover, President Prabowo highlighted the importance of the Bandung Spirit, referring to the principles of solidarity among developing nations established in 1955. Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arrmanatha Nasir, confirmed that Brazil, as the summit’s host country, welcomed the reference to Bandung and expressed hope for BRICS to revive the Bandung legacy to benefit developing nations. This marked Indonesia’s first participation as a full member in the summit.
