Sirkuit Mandalika Siap Jadi Tuan Rumah GT World Challenge Asia 2025

Mandalika International Circuit will host the first international four-wheeled racing event GT World Challenge Asia in 2025. The CEO of MGPA, Priandhi Satria, expressed his excitement about this long collaboration with SRO Motorsports Group. Since 2022, SRO has been evaluating the circuit’s readiness before including it in the racing calendar, showcasing Mandalika’s appeal on the global motorsport stage. Initially designed for MotoGP and WorldSBK, the FIA homologation process posed its own challenges. MGPA worked closely with FIA and FIM to adjust the track, enhance safety, and ensure four-wheel regulations without compromising the two-wheel standards.

Benjamin Franassovici, Director of SRO Motorsport Asia, also attended the press conference in Jakarta, expressing his confidence in Mandalika Circuit’s readiness to host this prestigious event. GT World Challenge Asia, part of the global GT World Challenge series, has evolved since 2017 into the leading GT3 competition in Asia. The addition of Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok strengthens Asia as a prime GT3 racing destination.

The series debut in Indonesia marks the first international motorsport event in Mandalika, elevating Indonesia’s profile and Mandalika’s potential as a top racing destination. The series will feature 30 GT3 cars from top teams like Absolute Racing (Porsche and Lamborghini), Origine Motorsport (China, Porsche), Phantom Racing (China, Audi and Porsche), Plus Racing (Japan, BMW M4 GT3), Climax Racing (Mercedes-AMG GT3), and local drivers Setiawan (Aston Martin) and David Tjiptobiantoro (Ferrari). Excitement is building for the historic races in Mandalika in May.
