President Prabowo Subianto recently convened a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister Didit Herdiawan to discuss the unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono disclosed that the construction was done without the required permits, a violation of the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction site has been closed off while further investigations are conducted to determine its ownership and legality. President Prabowo has directed a comprehensive legal review of the situation, involving cooperation with entities such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The main objective is to ensure adherence to legal protocols and prevent potential negative consequences like erosion. This proactive stance illustrates the government’s dedication to enforcing regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
