“Final Impact National Hackathon 2024: Dorong Inovasi Digital Desa Wisata Leuwimalang”

Impacts from the National Hackathon 2024 reached its peak with five finalist teams out of over 200 participants curated to compete in creating sustainable solutions for Leuwimalang Tourism Village, Bogor Regency. Over three days, participants visited the village, identified local challenges, and developed innovative ideas under expert mentorship. This event served as a collaboration platform between technology and community needs, generating innovations expected to be widely applicable in strengthening tourism villages in Indonesia.

Taking place from December 5th, 2024, the Impact National Hackathon 2024 culminated in presenting the top five teams out of over 200 participants competing to create sustainable solutions for Leuwimalang Tourism Village, Bogor Regency. Lasting for three days, the event combined on-field exploration with innovative idea development sessions. Beyond being merely a competition, the event became a stage for collaboration between technology and community needs, presenting solutions aimed at making a real impact on the development of tourism villages in Indonesia.

Throughout the three days, participants were immersed in Leuwimalang Tourism Village, exploring the potential and challenges faced by the local community. One of the first-place winners, Rizqi Kevin Octavian from Team Kode Keras, shared an inspiring story. “We saw that Leuwimalang Tourism Village has a lot of potential but still faces challenges, especially in the agricultural sector, which is still done manually. Therefore, we developed an automatic pest detection feature and smart irrigation to help the irrigation system run automatically. Our hope is that this innovation can be implemented not only in Leuwimalang Village but also in other villages in Indonesia so that traditional farmers can transform into modern farmers,” Rizqi said.

The final round held on December 5th, 2024, featured idea presentations from each team before a jury panel comprising five figures from various sectors: Yudi Santosa, S.Sos (Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Bogor Regency), Teddy Hartono Tanuwidjaja (Chairman TBN Indonesia), Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc, Ph.D (Secretary General of APTIKOM), Isaac Munandar (CEO & Co-Founder of MAXY Academy), and Andy Febrico Bintoro (CTO & Co-Founder of MAXY Academy). The judges highly appreciated the innovation and spirit of the participants in creating technology-based solutions relevant to community needs.

For the finalists, this experience left a deep impression. Rizqi also revealed, “We not only learned about innovation but also learned to understand the community and how technology can meet their needs. Direct interaction with village residents provided valuable new perspectives,” he added.

The event was also attended by various partners of Maxy Academy, including representatives from companies, universities, and community figures. Support from the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Bogor Regency also underscored the importance of synergy between government, academia, and the private sector in driving innovation for the development of tourism villages.

The Impact National Hackathon 2024 serves as evidence that technology, when combined with social spirit, can be a transformation tool to create positive change for society. The hope is that the solutions born from this event can continue to be developed and implemented to realize more innovative, competitive, and sustainable tourism villages.
