Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have been officially elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) evening. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people who exercised their right to vote in the 2024 elections.

“We want to express our highest thanks and appreciation to those who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 elections,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).

Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Organizers Honors Council (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 elections, as well as to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic celebration ran orderly and safely.

“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the elections. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Indonesian Campaign Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a big appreciation to the TNI-Polri for making the 2024 election very orderly, safe, and calm,” he said.

Prabowo then thanked the Indonesian Campaign Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairmen and all the members of the political parties involved in it. In addition, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and all supporting volunteers.

“We express our thanks and appreciation to all chairmen and members of all parties in KIM, and also to the TKN, volunteers, and mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” said Prabowo.

Prabowo invited all Indonesians to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.

“We invite all Indonesians to look forward together, unite, and hold hands. We must harmonize, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.

“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, if there are differences among us, that’s good. We respect differences. The elections are over, all choices of the people must be respected,” he continued.

Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesians. Prabowo stated that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.

“We have been chosen by the people, the mandate of the people is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesians. For those who did not choose us, please give us a chance. We will prove to be the president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesians,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
